Earn cashback on first direct cards with Visa Offers

05 Sep 2017

first direct rewards customers with cashback when they shop with selected retailers

first direct is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Visa which gives customers cashback when they spend with selected retail partners.

Customers can register up to five separate first direct Visa credit and debit cards to get money back when they shop with retailers such as H+M, Boots, Esso, Lidl, and Costa.

Depending on the retailer and how much they spend, customers can earn a percentage of their shop back, or an exact amount.

All first direct customers who hold Visa cards are eligible to sign up to Visa Offers and customers are currently being invited to register.

Once registered, customers simply need to log into the Visa Offers website where they’ll be able to view and activate offers, and earn cashback on purchases from leading brands.  Customers will also receive emails reminding them to log in and look at new offers.

Recent stats from UK Finance show June 2017 saw the highest annual rate of growth in debit and credit card payments since June 2008, with UK consumers racking up 1.4 billion card payments, worth a whopping £57.1 billion. A monthly record and 12% higher than June 2016.*

Nick Harrison, Head of Products at first direct , commented:

“With consumers loving the convenience of contactless, it means they naturally use their bank cards more often, so we’re excited to be able give our customers something in return when they shop for everyday items”.

“It was important to us that we’re providing real benefits in a way that fits in with our customers lives. We know our customers use these brands already and it made sense for us to partner with Visa Offers.”

Kevin Akerman, Executive Director of Customer Experience and Data Analytics at Visa commented:

“One of our product focuses at Visa is all about creating great customer experiences. Consumers want relevant and compelling offers that are easy to redeem and fast to reward. Combining the convenience of paying with a Visa card, with the seamless process of linking offers to that card, creates one of those great experiences.”
