first direct is absolutely delighted to be the official partner of the 11th annual Leeds LGBT Pride

first direct is proud to be the main sponsor of the 11thLeeds LGBT Pride celebration on 6 August, and we can’t wait join in this amazing celebration.

At heart we’re a people-powered, joy-loving group who’ve been doing things our own way since we started, and that will never change. We look to work with open-minded people, creative people, loud and proud people – people people. Leeds Pride is a great chance for us to celebrate the diversity that makes us – and the world – such a fantastic place.

Joe Gordon, Head of first direct , commented: “At first direct  we believe doing your own thing is a good thing. Leeds is our home and it’s a great opportunity for us to show our support for the community where we live, and have some fun too! Supporting our own LGBT colleagues is hugely important to first direct . Our own Pride Network is well established and does a great deal to promote a truly inclusive environment, and it's why we’re very proud to partner Leeds Pride.”

As part of the HSBC Group, the first direct Pride Network supports HSBC's involvement in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index and also supports other employee networks globally. There’s over 63,000 HSBC employees in the world who live and work in countries where it’s still illegal to be LGB or T, and we take part in events across the world to celebrate LGBT culture and pride, and help to highlight the issues LGBT people still face.

Football Apprentice Charity Challenge - you're fired!  In its 21st year first direct has the challenge of raising £2.1m for its charity partner the NSPCC.  It's a pretty tall order so we used Talking Point to ask our customers and the public for their ideas on how we might achieve our goal.
