What is the first direct Dialogue Festival

Dialogue is a brand new festival created by first direct  the bank, which will unite an exciting and diverse selection of artists to fuse music, comedy, debate and rhyme, in a four day celebration of conversation. The first direct  Dialogue Festival, is a celebration of conversation and the spoken word and has been created as an extension of the first direct brand to act as a live demonstration of the power of conversation and its different iterations, facilitated by a variety of experts, from poets to comedians and presenters. 

Brought to you by the bank built on conversation with its customers, the first direct  Dialogue Festival will debut in West London over four consecutive evenings from 2nd - 5th November 2011. Tickets are available from 7th September for this one of a kind event. 

Themed and curated by key figures from the comedy and literary worlds, first direct  Dialogue Festival invites you to experience the art of conversation in a series of thought-provoking, creative and inspiring displays of discussion and exchange. 

In select locations in London's Notting Hill, each night will focus on different themes including debate, banter, technobabble and lyrical. Expect to be stimulated by poetry, storytelling, comedy, lyricism, hip-hop and theatre. Sing a sentence together, enjoy a play on words or read between the lines at this unique festival inspired by.... dialogue! 

Why first direct ?

first direct understands more than anyone the importance of conversation, their business is built around it. first direct are constantly looking at ways of communicating and celebrating conversation and the spoken word, which is why they came up with the concept of the first direct Dialogue festival. 

How can you be a part of this?

first direct  are launching an inter blogger competition offering four bloggers the chance to take the stage and present a Pecha Kucha presentation alongside Perez Hilton on the Technobabble night of the first direct Dialogue Festival on Thursday 3rd November. 

What is Pecha Kucha?

Pecha Kucha is a Japanese word that literally translated means Chit Chat.   

It rests on a presentation format that is based on a simple idea: 20 images x 20 seconds. It's a format that makes presentations concise, and keeps things moving at a rapid pace. That's a total of 6 minutes and 40 seconds. 

What do you need to do to enter?

Devise a presentation based around conversation - it could be about how you started blogging, or about the first thing you blogged about but it needs to be something you are passionate about and something that will engage the audience.
