Businesses in South Lanarkshire urged to rise to the challenge in 2010 and help answer every child’s cry for help
The NSPCC is calling on businesses in South Lanarkshire to make a resolution for 2010 and help answer every child's cry for help by raising funds or donating their time or resources. High profile cases in the media have shocked the public and shown just how vulnerable children can be.

First direct raises a whopping £440,000 for ChildLine in 2009
At the beginning of this year we formed a partnership with the NSPCC and agreed to raise £2 million for the Child’s Voice Appeal by 2011. Here’s an up-date on how we’ve done so far. The grand total raised is £439,820 from various fundraising and sponsorship initiatives such as the Big Bike Ride, the Somerset House event and the HACK.

first direct, the UK's leading direct bank, is helping the NSPCC to launch its new online services for children and young people. One of first direct's latest initiatives was an internal online auction to celebrate the NSPCC's launch of www.ChildLine.org.uk.

Well, 20 people from first direct and the NSPCC started the process yesterday at a brilliant workshop designed to develop great ideas for fundraising, pro-bono and corporate mentoring, customer engagement and supporting the NSPCC's influencing and campaigning work. On Monday 9 November first direct's Leeds call centre customer representatives will add a new and magical aspect to their role. They will start taking calls on the "Letters from Santa" order line, helping the NSPCC and Santa deliver the "Letters from Santa" campaign which runs until Wednesday 16 December.
