How to use this site

Welcome to the first direct Social Media Newsroom.

This site is designed primarily to help journalists who are looking for the latest first direct news and other resources.

If you are looking for specific information about our products and services please go to firstdirect.com.

RSS Feeds

The site generates a news feed (also called an RSS feed) which you can subscribe to by clicking on the logo that looks like this: in the top right hand corner of the home page. This feed will automatically update your newsreader (including some email programs) with any new posts on the site.

Alternatively, if you are only interested in certain topics, you can use our "tag cloud" to select a topic (just click on the word which interests you) and subscribe using the orange RSS logo on the page which follows.

If you don't know what RSS is, or you don't have a feed reader, here is what Wikipedia has to say about RSS. We use bloglines as our feed reader, but there are lots of other good ones too.

Photos

If you want to download our photos, you can click on any individual photo to see an enlarged version. Feel free to cut and paste from there if you don't need a hi-res version. If you need it to be bigger, just follow the link to our Flickr page where you can download any of our photos for free.

Videos

Our videos are all on YouTube, if you want to share or use them, please feel free using the links which YouTube provides. Just click on the YouTube logo to visit our page.

For Bloggers / Journalists:

Press releases are featured in the "breaking news" on the homepage and published separately in the "press area" section, however, please feel free to use content from any part of the site.
